SANCTUARY
STUDIES

by Malcolm James Kutner

Welcome

Sanctuary Studies is a creative method for finding, creating, and sharing sanctuary in everyday life. Through tools, reflections, and storytelling, it helps us reconnect with what is already here while opening space to connect anew. It is a creative invocation—an invitation to explore what sanctuary means to you personally, blending timeless design principles with soulful exploration to shape a path of clarity, renewal, and joy. Here, we investigate, explore, and reveal what it means—and how it feels—to come home to ourselves in the most beautiful way possible, right here, right now.

What is Sanctuary

Sanctuary isn’t a destination or a curated routine. It’s not a perfect home or a flawless day. It’s something you learn to listen for—then claim, tend, and carry with you. It ebbs and flows, shifting with the seasons and the rhythms of your life. It holds both the beauty and the breakage, the stillness and the storm. And more than holding it, it welcomes it, honors it, transforms it—and grows more authentic because of it. Sanctuary can be—and is—many things each time we find it. But always, it is you. And always, it is right here and right now.

Meet Malcolm

At heart, I’m a meaning-maker who helps people feel at home—in their space, their story, and themselves. After years designing physical sanctuaries, I came to see that house and garden are just part of home, and began to ask: doesn’t true belonging start within? That question has become my path. Finding Sanctuary holds that work - a soulful invitation to grow through grief, move with meaning, and find beauty in the blur. Equal parts academic and aesthete, I bring depth, intuition, and companionship to the creative journey of coming home to ourselves.
